Venture/3M 1515 is an amazing, Industry Leading 2" inch cloth reinforced, SUPER HEAVY DUTY true duct tape for actual duct work. Heat resistant to 200 degrees, cuts easily with scissors or razor knife and tears straight. 14 mil is what you need for a really strong duct tape with incredible tensile strength and high adhesion. Nearly TWICE as thick as other "heavy duty" duct tapes, this tape is one of the few which are actually suitable to seal off a duct. Use this tape where Foil tapes are difficult to apply. This tape is resistant to flame spreading, smoke generation, moisture, mold growth and humidity.
Please NOTE: Surfaces must be clean, dust free, and dry. While the tape is indeed high humidity & water resistant (not submersible) the adhesive will not stick well to moist or dirty surface. Use 2-3 wraps and overlap layers for a smooth wrinkle free long lasting repair.
Always make sure you really press it firmly into place all around and have it warm enough - to set the pressure sensitive adhesive. The dryer and warmer the installation, the longer the adhesive will hold its position (avoid sliding). A vinyl tarp repair might last 1 season, wrapping a 6" pvc pipe could last 2 or 3 seasons if it does not move. For best results wipe all surfaces with alcohol or acetone and allow to fully evaporate before application.
